Final Festival Cut - Completed!
Monday, 08 September 2008 00:00

Just finished the final cut of the film last night. It's now 25 minutes with end credits. Ouch! had to cut sooooo much out of the original rough draft. But, I think it's better. It just never ends.. There's so much more I would like to do, tighter edit, better sound mix, an actual music score not just my original temp tracks, better end credits - re-shoot the entire film!! ha!!! Sometimes you have to draw the line on a film and this is where I'm drawing the line on this one. Handling the post production all by my lonesome is a real pain in the ass and a complete time sucker! A film is never finished...  Now, it's off to the next project. Sign up to be notified of any changes to the site and festival dates in a city near you.

Finished Editing

Yes I'm months behind schedule with this film. I left Brazil for a project that sucked all my time away from starting the edit of this film. I finally put some time aside to bite into the editing of Quarto 38. Three weeks later I have the first cut with temp music. One more week I have the complete music and sound mix and I just finished a quick pass of Color Grading.

The film without the end credits (which are really small anyway) is exactly 30 minutes. After I finish the English subtitles I'll spend some time cleaning up the edit and should have two final cuts of this film. One, 30 minutes including the end credits and a little tighter of an edit and Two, a 20 minute edit for some of those film festivals out there requiring much shorter films. This film is a little different then most short films. It's really difficult to edit it down completely since the story is so strange and any dramatic cutting of the film, well I just think most people won't get it. Damn, maybe most people wont get the 30 minute version either.. arrrrgggg.

Back to the grind. Have to finish the English subs and start on the tighter edit.
